CUNNINGHAM DANCE COMPANY MISSION:
The mission of CDC is to promote community and individual self-expression through the art form of dance; to develop and strengthen the company members’ skills as dancers, performers, and choreographers; and to share the diversity of dance with the school and larger community.
CUNNINGHAM DANCE COMPANY (CDC) DESCRIPTION:
*THOSE AUDITIONING SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING . . .

CDC is an audition based extended day program for dancers who have prior dance experience (slow intermediate through a more advanced level).

Dancers should have a strong desire to learn choreography from Ms. Brown in a variety of forms, with a focus on Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, and possible additional genres/techniques (including inspiration from African, Latin Jazz, etc.). Dancers should also be willing to explore partner work and exploring themes/messages in choreography.

Dancers must be open to learning new ways of creating and willing to create choreography together and assist in developing full-length dance pieces!

Dancers will be invited to participate in performances throughout the school year as part of the school dance program as well as within the neighboring community and in and around NYC.

Attire: Dance pants or sweat pants/leotards/tanks. Also, hair should be pulled back and jewelry removed! Professionalism is a must!
AUDITION INFORMATION:

Pick up audition form from Ms. Brown and bring to the Audition fully completed. IF selected, additional after school form(s) from office will need completion!

Come prepared with Dance attire-black bottoms/top (barefoot in studio or half sole shoe). Please note that if you are unprepared for an audition this does not help your acceptance into the dance company.

Bring a water bottle.

Acceptance will be shared via acceptance letters or letters sent through email. All rehearsals will take place 1-2 days a week and the -time will be announced. Additional rehearsals may be required.

FUSION DANCE COMPANY DESCRIPTION: *THOSE AUDITIONING SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING . . .

FUSION is an audition based extended day program for dancers who can demonstrate they can pick up movement vocabulary quickly across different genres, are willing to collaborate with the group, including it's student leaders, and are not afraid to explore their self expression through both choreographed sequences and improvisation.

Dancers should have a strong desire to learn choreography from the 8th grade leaders and company members in a variety of forms. Dancers should also be willing to explore partner work and exploring themes/messages in choreography.
