Cunningham Dancers perform for our school's Winter and Spring Dance Concerts which are part of our 234 Dance Program curriculum.  Dance Company members also perform in these concerts with opportunity to perform outside of school within our community and beyond.  Additional performances may be added as we continue to explore different ways to express the talents of our young dancers and choreographers!  Below are videos/clips and images  of performances from select concerts, showcases, and festivals.

Performance Descriptions: 

End of Semester & Performance Themes:

Each semester there will be a final performance including collaborative class developed choreography. Themes and music are decided by Ms. Brown with input from the class. Choreography genres and style vary according to themes and music (Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz/Latin Jazz & Musical Theatre, Hip Hop/House, World Dance Forms, Fusion of Forms/Styles, etc.

 

Emerging Choreographers Showcase: Open to Select 6th, 7th and 8th graders

Dance students may fill out a proposal to create and perform work in our Annual Student Showcase or as part of our Semester Performances.. All work must be completed on the dancers' own time/during lunch club rehearsals* as this is a voluntary commitment and requires additional responsibility! Proposals must be completed and approved prior to being accepted. There will be a limit on time (1.5-3 min), pieces accepted, and the amount of pieces dancers can be in (2). Dancers may also perform in only one solo. See proposal form for more details.

*If interested in Lunch Club:  These periods are used for Emerging Choreographer choreography and or dance student rehearsals for class (student project work/class choreo), Fusion Dance Company, Cunningham Dance Company or special sections Ms. D. Brown is working with dancers on).  Lunch club dancers require a special "Dance Pass" that they must get from Ms. Brown and they will be added to a special Google Classroom.  Lunch club for dance is rehearsal time and should be used for rehearsal!
